The voices in my head stay quiet no longer

November 11, 2007

That’s right folks: if you choose to do so, you can be subjected to audio of my thoughts on the Blue Jackets.  Mike at Army of the Ohio and I got together last night to watch the Jackets take on the Preds, and then we put together a little podcast.

Actually, it’s not all that little, as it carries on for about 45 minutes.  Hopefully, we saved a few things to talk about in the future.  To download the podcast, follow these instructions:

  1. Click here
  2. Type in the three letter code as prompted near the middle of the screen.
  3. Wait 45 seconds while you’re in queue to download (this is all free)
  4. Click on “Free Download”, wait as the huge file gets transferred to your computer, and enjoy the soothing sounds of myself and Mr. Turner trying to sound like we know hockey and the Blue Jackets.

If you take the time to listen, first of all… thank you.  You sat through 45 minutes of amateur hockey talk.  Some of it was good, some could use some work.  But we put this together as a service to our readers and the fans of the Jackets, so we’d like to thank you for your time.  Secondly, please let Mike and I know what you thought of the podcast.  If you thought it was great, let us know.  If you thought it sucked royally and we should never do this again, let us know.  We hope it’s something that will continue; and with the support of those that spend a bit of their valuable time on our sites, it will.

I look forward to hearing what you think.

Thanks for stopping by (and hopefully listening to our 45 minutes of hockey talk) the End of the Bench.  Come back soon.

  1. I just found your blog today (link from a comment on Puck-Rackers). Looks nice, lots of info & links to other teams. Great content…

I liked the podcast (listened to it 3times) better than your site though. I’m not a stats kinda guy (more of a simpleton myself) just looking for game details (whos playing/whos not, ect…) but, I’m sure alot of people would like this info…just count me as 1 that likes the podcast better.

IMO: I don’t think the Dispatch is worried about bloggers (lol), unless you start showing up at the rinks for practice and on road games. I just want to see if they let us post when this team falls under .500.

One last thing, I’m use to Really Off The Record podcasts, it’s more of a discussion then a conversation; try getting atleast 1 more person. But 2 is ok, hard to find content on the CBJ.

  2. Dirty,

Thanks for stopping by, and listening to the podcast. Three times, wow! I’m not sure I’ve even listened to it that many times through.

I can certainly appreciate that you’re not a stats guy, not everybody is. Heck, I’m not even sure if I am at this point or not. I think if you spend a little time here, you’ll find that we (Truth and I) talk about a lot things aside from stats. There is a wealth of stuff in the archives that has nothing to do with numbers.

Michael (from Army of the Ohio) and I would like to include more folks in the podcast, but for our first time we played the hand we were dealt just having the two of us. I think we’d both like to see this evolve, especially in response to reader suggestions.

I wouldn’t worry about the Puck Rakers bloggers at the Dispatch not allowing you to comment if/when the team falls below .500. But if something does happen, you can always come here to complain.

Again, thanks for stopping by (and for spending over two hours listening to my lovely radio voice), we hope you come back soon.
