Game #5 CBJ vs. TorontoOctober 20, 2006
The Maple Leafs come to town for the first of three games in four nights for the Jackets. After a long layoff (one game in ten days), Columbus will look to get back on track and gain some ground on division leading… uh… Chicago? Crap.
Blue Jackets: After getting blanked in Minnesota last Saturday, the Jackets will need to have the wheels rolling early. The power play has to develop some more flow, and Adam Foote needs to remember how to execute a simple breakout. If the Jackets can keep the shots against down and control the tempo, I believe they will win this game.
Maple Leafs: While Toronto is playing better than I expected, they leave Toronto being booed off the ice after a 4-1 loss to the Avalanche. Bryan McCabe is sitting back collecting his huge paycheck to the tune of zero goals so far this season. And to think, some folks wanted to hand him the Norris last year in December. Team captain Mats Sundin recently netted his 500th career goal, and will look to add to his Hall of Fame resume tonight.
